Katie Norman

Programme Manager

As Programme Manager, Katie delivers projects across the organisation; from placemaking to social innovation.

At Design Council she has worked on programmes with the NHS, Sport England, the High Streets Task Force and with community groups on Design, differently; assisting groups to better provide for their communities through use of design thinking tools. She also facilitates the sharing of design advice through design review to promote high quality, contextual and futureproof design.

Before joining Design Council, Katie graduated with her Undergraduate Degree in Architecture from Oxford Brookes University, where she conducted research into the role and value of narrative and storytelling within the built environment. She also has an interest in co-design with community, exploring the intersection of heritage and place, and how design can help us with the vital move to a more environmentally and socially sustainable world.

In her free time, Katie enjoys reading, sketching, taking trips to the theatre and trying new craft projects – from stained glass to tailoring second hand finds.
