Got a bright idea worth £200k?

We are delighted to announce the next round of Design Council Spark applications will open on 12 September 2017.

Design Council Spark has provided a creative space for more than 100 innovators and entrepreneurs to test their ideas since its launch in 2014. Of these we have supported 31 products to be developed, many of which are set to enter the market over the coming months.

This year the Spark finalists demonstrate a wide range of ideas aiming to provide a positive impact on people’s lives as well as delivering business growth. The finalist products range from smart glasses enabling visually impaired users to pick up on non-verbal cues, through to a re-useable coffee cup designed by re-using the residue of used coffee grounds, as well as a key turning tool to help people with reduced hand dexterity.

For the third year running Design Council Spark is proud to confirm their partnership with Arthritis Research UK, a charity which conducts research into the cause, treatment and cure of arthritis. Both organisations share a similar ethos – to improve lives through innovation and design.
