We like talking to designers. We especially like talking to designers about what they find inspiring, where their ideas come from and what keeps them motivated. 

That's why we started the take 5 talks series. Every other month we invite one of our favourite designers into the Design Council and ask them to share with us five insights into their work (spending no more than five minutes on each one). We then open the floor to the audience who can ask five clever questions to which they'll receive five fantastic answers. Tickets cost £5 and include one drink (yes, the theme ends there).

It's a great event and a chance for lots of people with a shared interest to gather for a fun and inspiring evening. However, we're aware that not everyone can attend the event itself. So we're editing each take 5 talk down to - you guessed it- five minutes.  

When typographer extraordinaire, Andy Altmann, joined us for take 5 recently, he started as he intended to go on - with an Eric. Have a listen to the five great influences on Andy's work: Eric Gill, Eric Cantona, Wreckless Eric, Eric Morecambe and Eric Morley.
