Overview
Join us on 1 March 2016 at Liverpool Central Library for a day of discussion about empowering tenants in new housing design and management
Whether you're a resident, tenant, community organisation, housing association or council representative, come along and have your say. This is a great chance to be part of a collaborative community and make a difference to your area.
The event will include a tour of a pioneering housing project in Kingsley Road, as hosted by Housing People, Building communities, an award winning charity that creates socially inclusive and cohesive communities. Find out more about the self-builders and volunteers who have helped to shape and build these new affordable homes.
We will also hear from fantastic local community interest companies and tenant-led boards such as Liverpool Mutual Homes and We Make Places, as well as Pickering and Ferens Homes, all of whom will demonstrate how local authorities, housing associations and tenants can work together in the design of new developments public spaces, neighbourhoods and surrounding communities.
Community-led housing design and development has been advancing in Liverpool for many years and we're now at a very exciting time in its development. Come along and learn more about your local community and enjoy a complimentary light-lunch from Homebaked Cooperative Bakery.
