London crowned the best of seven established world cities: according to professional services firm JLL
As news makes its way across the city acknowledging London as the most comprehensive city in rankings according to a new index, Design Council reflects on what this means to this great metropolis, the built environment, and design that have all contributed to this fantastic accolade.
Design Council Chief Executive Sarah Weir said, "The Design Council is the Design Advisor to a number of London Boroughs and we have seen the way that developers and the their design teams have been reacting positively to the significant improvement of much of central and inner London’s built environment over the last two decades, with the quality bar being raised even higher, and with quality of life requirements from building users, whether residential or business coming more to the fore. We have also seen this push for a greater focus on quality design and not just development being increasingly promoted and embraced by the outer boroughs. This result for London in global standing terms proves this out."
