Speakers announced for our Active by Design Summit
With three months to go until our Active by Design Summit we’re delighted to make our first announcement about the fantastic line-up of speakers who’ll be sharing their expertise with us on 18 September this year.
Summit speakers
Simon Allford, AHMM
Simon is an architect at AHMM. He is currently designing Google KX, Google’s new 1 million square foot HQ in King’s Cross with stunning walkways, cycle paths and roof terraces to keep staff active.
Mandy Ayres, Nike
Mandy is a Senior Director at Nike where she works building partnerships to help fight the epidemic of inactive, sedentary lifestyles.
Tom Lloyd, PearsonLloyd
Tom is an industrial designer and co-founder of PearsonLloyd. He created an award-winning new system of signs and street furniture to make Bath the UK’s most walkable city.
Claire McDonald, NHS England
Claire leads projects for NHS England and the Department of Health and advises organisations including TfL and the GLA on behavioural change, health and wearable tech.
Ruedi Baur, Intégral
Ruedi is a renowned graphic designer who creates wayfinding and signage that he believes can help society. He has worked on design projects for the Pompidou Centre in Paris and The New School in New York.
Lucy Saunders, Transport for London
Lucy is a public health specialist who has worked to improve health outcomes on behalf of the UK government, NHS and UN.
Sam Hill, PAN Studio
Sam is an experience designer and c0-founder of PAN Studio. He is currently developing a smartphone running game called Run An Empire which has already attracted nearly 2,000 backers on Kickstarter.
Mattias Lind, White arkitekter
Mattias is an architect at the award-winning White arkitekter, Sweden’s largest architectural practice. From town squares to major hospitals they are committed to designing places to help people live healthier lives.
Prof. Harry Rutter, Halsa Consulting
Harry is a doctor, Senior Clinical Research Fellow at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and Senior Clinical Lecturer at Oxford University. He is a world expert on how to solve the problems of obesity.
John Allison, StreetGym®
John is the founder of StreetGym® where he uses his army background to help people keep fit by teaching them how to use the urban environment as a gym.
