Take 5: Morag Myerscough 2014
The Design Council team is excited to launch a new series of events called take 5 at the end of January 2014. These design talks will take place on the last Thursday of every other month at our home in the Angel Building.
The take 5 format is simple. Each time we will invite a designer to share five insights with the audience. The designer is free to decide what insights they want to divulge, whether that is careers advice, or the projects they would most like to work on. We recommend the designer talks about each insight for about five minutes. Then we open things up to the audience, who can ask five questions. Tickets will cost just £5.
The motivation to put on this series of talks came from our in house designer Rebecca May, who wanted to provide some informal and fun opportunities for the design community, from students to studios, to come into Design Council and learn what we’re all about. It was also a chance for us to meet some of our design heroes!
The first of these heroes is Morag Myerscough, founder of the multi-award winning Studio Myerscough. Morag studied graphic design at Central Saint Martins and the Royal College of Art, her work challenges preconceptions about the discipline of graphic design. We love her playful and bright style and the exciting way her 'supergraphics' find a home in the built environment.
Tickets for take 5: Morag Myerscough, which is taking place on Thursday 30 January, have already sold out, but you can add your name to the waiting list here. Future guests will be announced on Twitter and full event details will appear on our events page.
