Spark
We hosted an annual 16-week design accelerator competition to support inventors to prototype and test their ideas, develop business plans and take them to market. The programme culminated in a two-day ‘Design Camp’ for the finalists, where a panel of expert judges selected winning applicants to receive investment to further incubate their ideas.
How we delivered:
Intensive support was provided to 50 finalists. This included introductions to expert mentors and five day-long workshops to provide product development and personal skill development support. Sessions were delivered as a cohort to encourage shared learning.
Impact
The programme has successfully accelerated 14 products to market, including Rockit.
The advice I received from the mentors, the various exercises and guest speaker workshops provided a varied, diverse, all-encompassing and complete course in product development and business.
Without Spark and our mentors we absolutely would not be where we are now.
