Paved with gold: The real value of street design

Paved with gold: The real value of street design

24 June 2007

This report shows how good street design contributes both economic benefits and public value.

It demonstrates that investment in quality design brings quantifiable financial returns and that people value improvements to their streets. It also illustrates how, by using stated preference surveys, public values can be measured alongside private values, so that they can be properly included in the decision-making process.

We can see that the best streets really are paved with gold.
