The value handbook: Getting the most from your buildings and spaces

30 July 2006

The value handbook is aimed at public sector organisations who want to get the most from the buildings and spaces in their area.

The aim of the guide is to encourage local authorities to assess whether the places, streets, and buildings for which you are responsible are contributing to, or hindering, service delivery. It asks some challenging questions which you can use to assess whether you're getting the most from your places, and it summarises some of the benefits and value created by a well-designed built environment.

The main purpose of this guide is to show how built environment investment decisions can be based on value rather than cost.
