Knowledge Coordinator

We are looking for an exceptional Knowledge Team Coordinator to provide high quality, cross-team support that helps us deliver our policy and advocacy work, raises the profile of our research and evidence, assists on upskilling programmes, and supports our engagement events with our Design Council Expert network. 

The Coordinator will need to be passionate about the power of design, committed to Design for Planet, action-orientated, with great administrative skills in a range of platforms.

About the role

The Coordinator will:

  • Support the team to organise meetings, deliver events and activity around research, policy, skills and our Design Council Expert network
  • Create research summaries and policy briefings that support our advocacy work
  • Support the administration of our research projects including preparing case studies, partnership pitch decks, coordinating tender processes and data collation
  • Support the administration to build and maintain strong relationships with key government and industry champions as well as our DCE network
  • Make sure all Knowledge team accounts, contacts and interactions are up-to-date in the CRM
  • Ensure timely and accurate booking in Business Central system of purchase orders, supplier invoices and related administration in relation to the Knowledge Team Programme
  • Support with the monitoring and evaluation of Knowledge team projects
  • Create reports as required on the activity of the team as it matches the annual Delivery Plan
  • Provide administrative support to the Knowledge Team as needed, monitoring mailboxes & forwarding messages, answering calls and updating the Intranet page
  • Support and providing cover for other Team Coordinators as needed
  • Actively contribute to our work and reports on Impact, Quality and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as required

Skills & Experience

  • Graduate or equivalent worked experience in the creative industries, design; and/or policy, research, public affairs; and/or project management.
  • Experience of conducting desk research and synthesising information to produce reports
  • Good understanding of qualitative and quantitative research and data
  • Understanding and/or proven interest in policy and how organisations influence change at a national level
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, time-management and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in an agile environment, to be proactive and fast-paced while always ensuring results are achieved
  • Diplomatic, able to act with confidence and integrity in all situations
  • Passionate about impact, quality and design that improves people's lives

Corporate responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and manage risks and financial controls in relation to the Design Council and your specific area of responsibility.
  • Comply with the Design Council’s operational policies and procedures including financial and risk management, project management and evaluation processes, brand guidelines, GDPR, information security and internal health and safety policy.
