Adam Towle
Adam is a highly skilled designer, senior leader, and built environment expert with extensive experience in creating successful buildings, streets, and places with both the public and private sectors. Trained as an architect, Adam won a prestigious RIBA President’s Medal award. He then joined 5th Studio, where he contributed to projects like the Fatwalk/Leaway and the Lea River Park masterplan.
As a member of Design for London and the Greater London Authority Regeneration Team, he made a significant contribution to the planning and steering of development in the capital. He spearheaded the groundbreaking high street initiative and helped shape programmes such as the High Street Fund, Crowdfund London, and Social Supermarkets. Additionally, he managed capital projects on behalf of the mayor, including the award-winning Connected Croydon regeneration programme. Since 2016, Adam has overseen the delivery of thousands of homes as part of Harrow’s and Ealing’s ambitious council home building programmes. He’s a non-executive director of the pioneering urban regeneration company Be First, advising particularly on architecture, design, and planning aspects of its activities. He has taught at London Metropolitan University, serves as an independent expert advisor to the Design Council and Design South East, sits on several design review panels, and mentors through the social enterprise Public Practice.
