Anne Boddington
Educated as an architect, urbanist and cultural geographer, she has 35-years’ experience in higher education and 20 in senior leadership, most recently as PVC for Research, Business & Innovation.
Her experience includes strategic and organisational design, business planning/finance, quality assurance in teaching and research, career development and international partnerships. She has worked for the UK Government’s Quality Assurance Agency (QAA), with museums and the cultural sector and as a strategic research reviewer for UKRI.
She is currently a member of the Circular Economy programme advisory board and the chair of the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2021 Sub Panel for Art & Design: History, Practice & Theory. She served on prior panels in REF2014 and RAE2008 and has contributed to 5 EU projects as a design and educational ‘expert’.
Anne has a range of international and governance experience. She is Chair of the Circular Economy programme, a member of the HK Council (HKCAAVQ) and has undertaken research and quality reviews for government bodies (e.g., India, Estonia, Portugal, Israel). She has been an independent Governor in FH/HE, a trustee of a number of small charities and of the Design Council since 2015.
