Brian Dixon is the Head of Belfast School of Art, Ulster University in Belfast, Northern Ireland. He has worked for leading global art and design institutions, including the Glasgow School of Art and the University of the Arts London. His research interests draw together design methodology and philosophy along with design for policy. He is committed to interdisciplinarity and sees philosophy as a medium for supporting understanding and doing, especially in the context of sustainability. He has published two books on the subject and regularly leads programs of research aligned to this outlook.
