Darren Evans

Darren has helped global businesses, SMEs, and public sector organizations on strategic design challenges for close to 30 years. A strategic designer with a passion for new ideas and people-centered techniques, he is firmly focused on designing 'different'. He is the founder of The Engine Room, a brand consultancy experienced in delivering transformation projects across the healthcare, manufacturing, and technology sectors. It has won seven DBA Design Effectiveness Awards, including the 2017 Grand Prix. He is also co-founder of Wilson's Republic CIC, a community of diverse creative businesses with a purpose to develop resilience within the creative industries across West Yorkshire. In 2021, Wilson's Republic prototyped a trailblazing peer-to-peer program which has helped support over 150 creative businesses and individuals. Wilson's Republic sits on the Kirklees region's cultural strategy board. Darren is a fellow of the RSA and an alumnus of Amsterdam-based Design Thinkers Academy.
