Jonathan trained as a product designer and has designed consumer products as diverse as toys and toilet seats as well as industrial products for the oil, fishing and forestry sectors.

Jonathan now operates as an independent design strategist working with a wide range of both public and private sector clients.Jonathan has been successfully applying human-centred design techniques to the development of products and services for over twenty five years. It is this experience that led to him working as an instructor with LUMA-Institute, the Pittsburgh-based, design education and innovation organisation, through whom he worked with a range of corporate and public sector clients across the world including Honeywell, DBS (Singapore), Prudential, McDonald’s and the US Government Center for Disease Control.As a Design Associate he has trained and coached a wide range of public and private sector clients in the practical application of Design Council’s Framework for Innovation including Rolls-Royce Aerospace, Mercer, London Business School, AGA-Rayburn, Harrison Fisher, Naylor Industries, First Point Group, European Commission, Chilean Government, Home Office, Children’s Society and NHS Trafford.
