Levent Ozruh

Levent is an architectural designer who explores the role of technology in inverting the built environment's fragilities against the entropic nature of our universe. His philosophy for sustainable design advocates for cultural value creation through open-endedness in architectural form, structural assembly, and spatial organization to benefit from future disorder and volatility. In doing so, he puts material-driven experimentation at the core of the design process to explore new ways of enhancing building life cycles.

Having studied architecture at the University of Edinburgh, UCL, and the AA School of Architecture, Levent further expanded his academic foundation by working as a researcher at MIT's Senseable City Lab. His professional experience includes working for Carlo Ratti Associati in Turin and Coop Himmelb(l)au in Vienna. Currently, Levent directs OZRUH, a research-driven architectural design studio, and is part of the Space Architecture team at Hassell. He scales OZRUH's material innovation from small prototypes to architectural projects, merging advanced design and manufacturing processes to create sustainable material ecologies. At Hassell, he worked on creating an adaptive masterplan vision for living on the Moon for the European Space Agency, incorporating various concepts for the novel re-use and adaptability of building elements over time. Now the programme director of Moonshot Visiting School at the AA School, he previously taught Architecture at UCL.
