Nicola Peel
Nicola Peel is a Solutionist, a change-maker, and an inspiring speaker with 25 years of award-winning environmental work. As a dynamic force at the forefront of environmentalism and sustainability, Nicola's professional journey spans from navigating the Amazon River as a documentary filmmaker to co-founding The South East Climate Alliance, uniting over 140 environmental, social, and faith-based groups in the south of England. Nicola's diverse experiences have shaped her into a 'Solutionist,' focusing on actionable steps for individuals, communities, and businesses.
For over 20 years, Nicola has been working in the Ecuadorean Amazon and is the coordinator and trustee for the charity Rainforest Saver. Her initiatives, from designing rainwater systems for families affected by oil spills in the Amazon to teaching pioneering regenerative agriculture, demonstrate her adaptability and commitment to real solutions. Beyond her roles, including Creative Director for Sussex Green Living and Ambassador for One Planet, Nicola has received accolades such as the P.E.A. (People. Environment. Achievement.) Awards in 2013 and was a finalist in the Guardian Observer Ethical Awards in 2014. Nicola lectures on transformational change, Biomimicry, and Nature-Based Solutions, obtained a Permaculture Design Certificate in 2009, and has been learning from indigenous wisdom over her 20 years in the Amazon.
