Patrick Bellew RDI

Patrick is the Founder of Atelier Ten, a Building Services and Environmental Engineering consultancy founded in 1990 in London and now with 11 offices worldwide. He is a Chartered Engineer with more than forty-five years’ experience in the design of high- performance buildings and systems. Patrick is known for his expertise in the design and integration of low and net-zero carbon engineering solutions into Architecture and has worked with many of the world’s leading Architects and Designers for decades.

He was on the Design Review Committee of CABE from 1999 to 2005 and a Governor of the Building Centre Trust in London between 1996 and 2011.  Patrick was a founding member of the UK-GBC and served on the Executive / Trustee Board from 2006 to 2016.

Patrick is an Honorary Fellow of the RIBA (2001) and a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering (2004). In 2010 Patrick was named a Royal Designer for Industry by the UK’s Faculty of Royal Designers, he received the Presidents Silver (2013) and Gold Medals (2024) from the CIBSE for Services to the Industry. In 2023 he received the Fazlur Khan Lifetime achievement award from the CTBUH.

Patrick lectures widely on issues relating to sustainability in the Built Environment, he taught on the Master of Architecture program at the Yale University School of Architecture from 2000 - 2008 and has led six Advanced Design Studios as Eero Saarinen Visiting Professor between 2010 and 2022.
