Phillippa Rose

Phillippa is a leading practitioner and educator in user research, design and innovation with 20 years experience. She founded Current Works in 2015 enabling people-centred and purpose-driven solutions with large organisations undergoing systems change and transformation. Clients span government departments, Higher Education, retailers, Fortune 500 Corporations and NHS Trusts. She is currently leading UX research practice at Motability Phillippa regularly speaks and writes about design and innovation, including co-authoring the ‘This is Service Design Doing’ (O'Reilly, 2018) and ‘Transforming Higher Education with Human-Centred Design’ (Routledge, 2024). She is passionate about bridging the gap between education and industry, enjoying teaching post-grad design and research at University of the Arts London and Hyper Island. Phillippa is a firm believer that a connected community is a dynamic force for positive social change. She has enjoyed various non-exec roles including serving on the Fellowship Council for the Royal Society of Arts Manufacture and as an active member of the global service design community, co-hosted five Global Service Jams including the first Global Gov Jam in the UK. Phillippa is also a certified Lego Serious Play facilitator. She is motivated by the spirit of inquiry, and collaboration, to tackle complex problems facing our people and planet, today and tomorrow.
