Richard Hall
Richard has over thirty years of industry experience in design strategy and innovation to commercialize products and services. His knowledge spans a comprehensive range of design methodologies, from early-stage human-centered design to design for manufacturing. His skills and knowledge within design and manufacturing are founded on an Engineering Apprenticeship at Rolls Royce Aero and extensive experience working for a range of industries across Europe, Asia, and the US. In 2005, he founded the design innovation and sustainability agency Pd-m International, working with organizations from high-growth start-ups to multinationals in health technologies, life science, medical devices, automotive, consumer, nursery, and industrial industries. Richard is passionate about design strategy and navigating the complexities of regulatory, intellectual property, manufacturing, and commercialization to successfully deliver product and service solutions. He has many years of experience understanding and addressing the challenges of achieving Net Zero through circular economy, life cycle analysis, and sustainability. In addition to leading the agency, Richard regularly conducts talks about design innovation and sustainability at the Royal College of Art, NHS, Hong Kong Design Institute, and other universities in the UK. Richard holds a degree in Product Design, an MSc in Leadership, is a Fellow of the RSA, a Chartered Manager with CMI, and consults for the government body UKRI.
