Ruth Wassermann
Ruth is a creative leader with two decades of experience working at senior levels internally and as an independent consultant. She has delivered growth through product innovation, built brands, and led multi-year strategy and internal venture programmes.
From 2013, she led Made.com design from scale-up to IPO via three new collections a week, several new product categories, and a crowdfunding platform for emerging design. As VP Design at MOO, she spearheaded a strategic product diversification, building a new products team, an agile process, and a multi-year sustainable product strategy alongside commissioning a strategic brand refresh. A passion for sustainable practices in her work and beyond as trustee of an environmental fund has included steering corporate strategy, commissioning Lifecycle Analyses, and implementing best practices for design and source. She has an interest in design for aging in place where she has supported a start-up in the space.
Ruth champions playfulness in pursuit of creativity. With a knack for combining insight with data, she is an expert at applying design-thinking practices to make the projects she pilots innovative and effective. She was named in Marketing Week’s top 50 CX professionals, has won and judged various awards including D&AD, Design Week, and Creative Pool, and has appeared as a speaker in the press and as a guest on BBC Radio 4.
