Tom Crawford
Tom is an accomplished leader in sustainable business and product development. He is driven by a deep passion for technology, innovation, education and fostering behaviour change to build a more sustainable and regenerative future. He currently spearheads sustainability efforts for Vodafone Group, bringing his expertise in shaping impactful sustainability strategies. Prior to this role, Tom established and led the global Sustainability function at Dyson Technology Ltd., overseeing all aspects of ESG - from product development and business operations to corporate governance and employee engagement.
With over 20 years of experience in design engineering, manufacturing, transformation and business development, Tom has played a pivotal role in developing groundbreaking household appliances, including 16 years at Dyson. A named inventor of more than 70 patents, he has worked across various manufacturing landscapes, from Europe to Southeast Asia, and led the development, launch, and commercial success of many Dyson's products, including their innovative beauty products.
Tom holds a Master of Studies (MSt) in Sustainability Leadership from the University of Cambridge, where he focused his thesis on the enablers of circular economy models to unlock value from end-of-life products. He also serves as a Visiting Fellow at Cranfield University, where he lectures MBA students on Circular Economy Business Models, and holds a BSc in Product Design and Manufacturing.
Outside of work, Tom enjoys outdoor pursuits including running, surfing and mountain biking, and spending quality time with friends and family.
